I really want to re-do my living room. This is all just a lot of wishing, mind you. But one day, I will do it. And when I do, I am getting some new chairs. Maybe not these, but something nice. I would also really like a new area rug. Mine has been around for too many dogs.

I hope your Valentine Day has some chocolate in it. I know mine will! My Valentine is a super sweet medal. It’s not chocolate but I love it enough to eat it. I Love Scotland. Do you?

I’m thinking of going back there. Maybe personally–when I saw the date of this photo, I couldn’t believe it had been almost 10 years since I was in Scotland. But I am thinking of setting a book in Scotland. It’s also been awhile since I did that. Have you read my Lockhart family series? Scots, all of them (Highlander Unbound, Highlander in Love and Highlander in Disguise). I also put one of the books from the Scandalous series there (Highland Scandal…which is on sale for $3.99 until February 20!). What do you think? Would you like to visit the Highlands with me?

Why does Dr. Oz Keep Emailing?

I subscribe to some online health blogs. Some are about running, some are about clean eating. I do not subscribe to Dr. Oz. Nevertheless, about twice a week, I get an email with the header, “Julia, Dr. Oz Wants You to Have Your Best Body Ever!” Why does he want that? He doesn’t even know me. How does he know I don’t already have it? I don’t see him at the start line of any half marathons, thank you. It’s kind of annoying, thinking that Dr. Oz is out there deciding that I need to improve the chasis. I KNOW I need to improve and I don’t need him sending me emails to remind me. Dr. Oz, I respectfully request you go want someone else to have their best body ever.

The 26.2 with Donna Marathon and Me

I am going to run another half marathon. How, I ask you, does this keep happening?? I think I’ve figured it out. Last year, I really wanted to try to do one. So I announced it on Facebook, which meant I had to do it. I had said it out loud! Well, I did it. I ran my first half marathon in November. It was hard–it was hot and humid and there was this unbelievable hill in the last tenth of the 13 mile race that really pissed me off. Who does that?? But I finished it, and I was all euphoric and said out loud, “I’m going to do another one! The breast cancer marathon in Florida!”

Well, here I am, two weeks out, cursing myself for talking out loud so much. This particular marathon, the 26.2 with Donna, is pretty cool, however. First of all, it’s all flat (Hooray!). Second, it’s in Florida in the winter (even better!). And third, 100% of the proceeds go to fight breast cancer. So if I have to run another one of these %#$& things, this looks like the one to do. It’s February 12. Wish me luck!
