It’s a Party! Come be Healthy With Me

I am really excited!   I am, at long last, launching a page for those of us who have come together because we love to read, and who want to be healthy.  I am talking about women who are probably never going to be a cover model.  Who could use some support in reaching their fitness goals, in stepping away from the potato chips, or just like the idea of camaraderie around a shared value.   It’s for women who want to be healthy and eat right, and not worry about it.

My new page is called Running for Burgers.  Why?  Because it’s funny, and it’s exactly what I do–I run so I can eat cheeseburgers and french fries guilt free.  And because  “Running, Cycling, Walking, Swimming and Aerobicizing for Burgers” wouldn’t fit on the graphic.. 😉  You do NOT have to be a runner to be part of this page.  We welcome ALL  activities, from cross-fit to walking to roller-blading to biking, to gardening, to yoga–whatever you do to stay fit.   All you need is a desire to be healthy and a desire to hang out with like-minded people.

I am going to make it worth your while, too!   Every month, we will select one lucky person to receive a cute little burger charm and a book signed by me, because she earned it!  I really hope you will join us.  Check out the Running for Burgers Facebook page and please read my welcome burger about how this came to be.  Like the page, and let’s get started!

  1. Awesome blog! Do you have any helpful hints for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own website soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you recommend starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m completely overwhelmed .. Any tips? Cheers!

    • My chief advice and what tell all aspiring writers, write and read every single day. It really is a necessity for a writer. As for a blog, I would definitely start with either a free or inexpensive site with the capabilities of growing with your audience.
      Best of Luck!

  3. This is very nice idea. I’ve recently gotten on the eating healthier band wagon. I was doing pretty good, but I fell off the wagon today. I’ll claw my way back on tomorrow and keep trying.

    • I spend every day like that Angie. Trying to stay on the wagon, clawing back on if I fall off. I hope you will join my new FB page (follow the link in the blog). Thank you for coming!

  4. What a cool thing here. I have lost 20 and have plateaued. I miss burgers a lot, then I think about “pink slime”. There is no telling how much of that I have consumed in the past 20 years…. I am going organic.

  5. I am disabled and have a hard time walking, setting, standing or laying down for any length of time. I love love love to swim and walk and can’t walk for very long any longer. We are now living at a 55 and over park and the pool is heated and so I am swimming and walking in the pool.
I am 75 lbs over weight (was bed ridden 90% of the day for three years) and pray I can lose it. I am so glad you have this going. Need and would love to support us all.
    Thank you
    Denese.

  6. I miss burgers….I give them up …as of today I have lost 63 lbs. (one year 2 months) I started walking on the weekends, first weekend 1 mile. Now I walk/jog 7 miles on Sat. and Sun. I hit the gym three days a week. No red meats. On my birthday I plan on having a big Burger…

    • Congratulations on the weight loss! I am with you on the burger thing, Sandy. I have to run at least 7 miles before I will allow the works :-). But man, I live for those days!
