It would be like stepping back in time. The scenery itself would take my breath away!! To taste the food would be heavenly, and I still remember bits and pieces of French from years ago, when I was in school. My Husband was there, when he was in the Army, and I would love to go back there with him, so he could show me all the places that he went to while he was stationed there. It would be a trip of memories!! (Probe211)

I was never much of an “art museum” person until I spent a very few hours in the National Gallery and National Portrait Gallery in London (I shudder to think how long ago that’s been now). I’d like to visit Paris to see the Louvre and some of the other great museums and the beautiful historic architecture.
The first thing that comes to mind when I think of going to Paris is THE FOOD! I love French cuisine! The fashions & art are fabulous too but mostly the food!!
I’d love to visit Paris again; my daughter and I spent one hectic day there in 1984, as part of a bus tour. We were herded like sheep, and the only time we had to ourselves was at selected gift shops. The Rodin Museum was not on the list, though we drove by. I’ve been rereading Colette, I want to tour the Panthéon, I want to visit Morrison’s grave, and I want to shop at the original Galeries Lafayette.

I have always wanted to visit Paris because of its history and romance. But I really want to visit it now to show my solidarity with the French people after the terrible terrorist attack. I know some people are shying away because of safety concerns, but any one of us can be hit by a bus tomorrow. We can’t let fear rule our actions.
As a history major, I have to say the historic sight seeing would be my main motivation to go. The food and especially desserts wouldn’t be a too far behind reason, either 🙂

I believe it to be quite sad and disappointing that the world is so vast, and has such a diversity in its culture and livelihood, yet so many exist without even a nibble of what is out there! To expand beyond ones comfort familiar own backyard and shell is in fact to be ALIVE, and sucking the marrow out of all that is available to be had! I admire the courage and adventure of others, which reading provides the ” trips” without the actual travel! Thank you for bring such a gifted and wonderous navigator on my many voyages!

I have recently really surprised myself with a desire to visit France. To enjoy Paris, the wine country, the art, the opera, the food and etc! How terrific it would be to make the journey with a charming companion who had the same interests. If he was fluent in French, tall, masculine and courtly, so much the better. History, architecture and food. It sounds wonderful.
I actually was just in Paris at the beginning of April this year, as part of a larger trip that I took to celebrate my 30th bday (London, Paris, Dublin & Iceland). Unfortunately, I lost my job 2 days before I left for Europe, so my enjoyment was dampened quite a bit. I wasn’t able to do and see many of the things I had dreamed of. I’m still job hunting, so it’ll be awhile, but I’m hopeful that someday I’ll get to go back & experience Paris – and Europe – the right way. Without, you know, freaking out the whole time about spending money. Ha. Someday…!
I would love to visit Paris to experience the aura of majesty and wonder that surrounds this grande dame of cities.

I’d love to visit Paris because I didn’t spend nearly enough time there the one time I was fortunate enough to visit. So much to see, do and eat!
This may sound funny but I’ve wanted to visit Paris since I was in High School. When I was in High School not only was french required but our teacher was from France. While I could read French without a problem the one thing I never managed was to be able to speak the language!
The next year I changed classes and read Latin instead because as long as we needed to know how to read it not even the teacher had a clue to how you would speak it! I ended up not only loving to read Latin but when I went to college got a job in the Department of Plant pathology to type out anything that had Latin involved. YEAH!
The only thing is because I never learned to understand French being spoken I’ve wanted to visit there and it’s been 55 years since I graduated from High School and I still haven’t been able to make that trip to France!
I hope who ever wins your contest will have a wonderful time and someday be able to look back and realize how fortunate they were to win your contest!
PS: Please keep writing and I’ll keep reading all your wonderful stories!
Camden, South Carolina

I would love to visit Paris because of the inspiration it would provide for creativity! From photographs of the architecture, streets, monuments, bridges, parks and the River Seine, I can see that Paris is a beautiful city. The history of Paris — from ancient settlers to modern Parisians — that I’ve read about would come alive through visiting the variety of interesting sites in the city. I could paint and draw pictures of the same views that my favourite artists did. While sitting at a cafe, I could write a poem or short story based on the actions observed from the humanity around me. I would buy and eat delicious pastries from a Patisserie. Before I left Paris for home, I would be sure to sit for a reflective time in the sanctuary of the beautiful Notre Dame Cathedral. One day (I’m 50, so I hope it’s not too long from now), I will visit beautiful Paris!
I would love to see the history of the city!
My wife would love any of these!
I love to read

I’ve always had a passion for art and love. Paris has both my passions in the most awe inspiring way. One of my first childhood dreams was to admire and buy art from some starving artist on the street there and later find they arrived displaying their work in the Louvre.

Because It’s the world’s most romantic city. Stanley Stewart explains: “Chaotic passions flutter beneath its fine sensible civilised face. Its reputation as the city of love is so pervasive that I once met nomads in Outer Mongolia discussing fantasy dates in Paris. Despite their geography being a bit hazy – they seemed to feel Paris was a day’s ride from Moscow on a decent horse – they talked of the river, the bridges, the spires of Notre Dame.”

When I first visited Paris in 2011 I was struck by how romantic it really is. You see it in the movies, but really, movie portray what they want. I was with my 10 year old daughter at the time. We were getting over the death of her father, my husband. Now, 5 years later I have a new person in my life and I would love to visit Paris for the romance.

I would love to visit Paris again because when I went the first time I was 25, it was my first time in Europe, and I was only there for three days. Paris has such a mixture of old and new construction that I would love to just go for long walks and forget about cell phones and laptops. I will often read books set in Paris in times of historic significance and I love that pictures of Paris are a reminder of those times. Anything Parisian makes me happy.
Because while my husband was ‘made in Canada’, he’s still French…lol

Paris! I would so enjoy to visit such a storied city– but also admit that I would be intimidated by the language barrier. Alas, I speak no French and wonder how much that would hinder my enjoyment. Then I realize that it would be an adventure of a lifetime and I should stop being such a sissy. I can make myself understood enough to say important things like “chocolate!”

I have wanted to visit Paris since I was in grade school. I took French in high school and was chosen as foreign exchange student to go to France for a summer but they couldn’t find a home for me. It was so disappointing. My son traveled to Europe a couple of summers ago on an internship and traveled to Paris for a day just so he could get some pictures for me and tell me about it. I am 61 but still hope to someday get a chance to go see the City of Light and try out my French.

I’d love to visit Paris one day because I feel as is for a foodie and wine aficionado it’s a must visit city. The history of a city is just as important to me as well. I would love to visit Paris as a way of honoring my mom who loved the French language and culture (she took French lessons for decades and was fluent in it). Unfortunately she had a terrible fear of flying, so she would never go to Paris.

I would love to see the architecture. I find the older buildings beautiful 🙂
I would love to visit Paris because of my grandparents. They were one of those perfect couples. Loved each other since they were children, married in high school, inseparable and totally in love. They visited Paris together and they talked about it being their favorite place they’d ever seen. My grandfather told my grandfather they would go back but passed away from cancer a few years ago before they could return. Every year I get my grandmother a little something to lift her spirits that has to do with Paris. She always says he is waiting for her there.
I would love to visit Paris for their culture . I have never been out of the country and I figured why not start with Paris 🙂 thanks for the chance to win .
