  192. Alas, I am not reading a romance right now. I am reading Dana K. White’s How to Manage Your Home Without Losing Your Mind. It is about decluttering. After reading HUNDREDS of organizational and decluttering books throughout the years, I think this one resonated the most. Dana keeps coming back to “do your dishes”. If you do your dishes every night (and put them away dry in the morning), it will make you feel wonderful about your clean countertops, so meal prep is so much easier and faster. Once you do that every night (the first night will take the longest because you probably have more than one night’s dirty/clean dishes) for a week, then do something else for 5 minutes or so every day for a week. She suggested sweeping the floor. Even though I have wall-to-wall carpeting, my kitchen floor often has food bits in the corners, so I started doing that, and what a difference it makes! I went from “just” sweeping the kitchen, to sweeping the main floor, then to sweeping the main floor AND the upstairs, to sweeping the main floor AND the downstairs. And did I find dirt, even though I swept every day. She basically said do whatever helps YOU. Sweeping the floors meant getting stuff up off the floor in the first place, so, again, the first time took ages, but every night after that was 5 minutes tops. I am now reading how one thing leads to another, and I totally believe it. The joy I have felt looking at my swept rugs every day makes me want to have company over (which I can’t yet re COVID-19)! I am now posting not-needed items for sale online (in leaps and bounds), hoping to see these items leave my home permanently. Little steps make a huge difference! Can hardly wait to read the last few chapters….

  193. I am taking a step back with Patricia Wentworth’s Miss Silver mysteries. So old fashioned! I’m enjoying them so much.

  194. Love the “Cedar Springs Series”! I am so looking forward to some “normalcy” returning to the the publishing world–not just for me as a reader, but also for authors, publishes, booksellers, and anyone who works at producing books. I will be “drinking in” all the reads I can–just like someone who has been parched and is much in need of sweet tea and lemonade!
