  13. Summer is always my favorite season, even when I spend it inside, working in the air conditioning. The daylight is so much longer and brighter! It makes me feel terrific and full of energy. I still reserve the later evening hours for reading and it’s so hard to put down a good book that I end up being a night owl. Rarely do I shut off my Kindle before midnight. Enjoy your margaritas and I’ll enjoy my mojitos!

Of course, reading is a favorite pass-time of mine and being able to do it on the beach is a bonus! I’ll be attending a wedding as well this summer!! I almost forgot about the free outdoor concerts. Listening to good music while snacking and sipping with friends on the lawn is big time fun.

  35. I’m planning on going back to my hometown, and see family and friends. I have a new great niece, and a new great nephew I can’t wait to see

  37. My husband had a liver transplant in 2014 and he has have a bumpy recovery since the transplant. All he has been talking about is taking our little niece and nephew to the beach this summer. Even though he is sick and weak due to an illness not related to the transplant, we are all going to go to the beach this July..He hasn’t been to a beach since he was a kid.

  42. We just got home from a trip to San Diego, and I’m looking forward to sleeping in my own bed for a few weeks. I love spending time in my yard this time of year too.

  43. We are milatary and are moving from Yuma Arizona to Jacksonville nc so this summer I guess I am looking forward to being in a new house and closer to my family that I have not seen in over three years.

  60. Vacation in Colorado this summer. The downside – but not a total downside, just a major change – is that vacation is serving the double purpose of moving our oldest out of state for his next 6 years of college (and hopefully 2 degrees).

  76. I will be reading by my new pool that DH decided we needed for fun with the Grandchildren and R&R for us!

  77. I’m looking forward to visits from all my children as I can’t travel any more by doctor’s orders. With no snow on the roads and each one coming from a distance hopefully they plan for the best traffic times. This time they are all coming from different directions at the same time.
    If you hear load voices, laughing and loud shrieks You’ll know it is happening.

  78. I am looking forward to having time for reading by the pool at my apartment complex and having more time for my counted cross stitch. I design my own patterns to stitch. Both reading and cross stitch are favorite hobbies. I love designing items for my kids and grandkids while reading both relaxes me and allows me to escape.

Having a car will also make getting to my 3 jobs easier. And with schools closed and traffic lighter, I’ll get there much quicker. As a result of the car, I’ll be able to relax more often and sleep a little longer.

  126. I always look forward to our annual potluck party, where we have between 25 and 75 people usually attend. (It has to be a potluck because people who say they will come don’t, and people who don’t say they are coming do, and providing a BBQ, for example, just won’t work with unknown numbers.) They bring their own lawn chairs and potluck item, as well as BYOB, and we provide croquet, basketball, ladder ball, ring toss, and street hockey on our double-wide driveway. If it rains, we sit in the carport and/or garage, or else go in the (small) house and mingle throughout the main floor and the rec room below. Doesn’t matter when you’re with your friends and family….

  143. I live in interior Alaska, so we spend so much time during the year in the dark and cold. I’m enjoying the time I get to spend outside this summer, as every summer. And, I’m hoping for some fresh home-grown veggies as the summer progresses.

  146. I belong to our library book club. We only do one book a month, but I manage to get a couple extra books read that are best sellers. I recently started to use audiobooks and find that I can multitask and still know the details of the book. Books are a major part of my life.

  157. Well, this is the first summer in a long time that I am not working. I’ve been hitting the pavement job hunting rather than sitting pool side or traveling. I could really use a nice break about now!

  158. Actually, I’m a real animal lover and am involved in animal rescue. A little over a year ago I had five Treeing Walker Coonhounds and three cats (all rescues). I lost my deaf hound girl in April of last year, my senior Maine Coon cat in February, and my senior Coonhound girl in April of this year. I’m working on adopting another dog, so that’s what I’m looking forward to most this summer.

  223. Spending almost every weekend at the beach with my two kids and hubby. My husband loves to fish with our 6 year old daughter and I have a blast building sand castles with our 2 year old son. It’s great quality time with the family.

  621. My girls are shooting at the World Archery tournament in Myrtle Beach SC at the end of June. This will be my oldest daughters last archery tournament, she has been shooting for 10 years in the NASP program.

  640. I will have an enforced lazy summer this year. I recently had shoulder surgery so I am restricted to doing very little and only then with one hand. So, no cleaning, no housework and no cooking. Yay me! Good thing hubby is retired, hee hee.
    And while I won’t be able to do any crafting, I will be able to rest, read, and just take it easy.
